Registration Hours 

Saturday: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Monday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM

The registration desk will be located in the Riverfront Hall Foyer.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Attendees MUST wear their registration badge to attend all events. This includes any off-site events like the Opening Reception at Joia Beach. For security purposes, we must have proof of registration to let anyone in and out of the conference area, exhibit hall, and off-site events. There will be a $10 fee to reprint any badges.

Passport to Prizes

We’re excited to bring back the Passport to Prizes program to help attendees connect with our fantastic exhibitors! Each exhibit booth will display a unique QR code. Just open the Passport to Prizes icon in the SACUBO Event App and scan the codes as you visit each booth. Once you’ve scanned all the codes and visited every exhibitor, you’ll be entered into a drawing for some great prizes! The drawing will take place in the General Session Room on Tuesday morning. Winners will be announced on stage and receive a certificate to redeem their prize.

Kick off your evening with a drink on us. All attendees will receive drink tickets for Monday’s Happy Hour. Want more? Many exhibitor booths will have a teal “Get Drink Tickets Here” sign. Stop by, say hello, and collect an extra ticket at each participating booth. It’s a fun way to mingle, explore, and sip a little more!

Miami Weather/Climate

April is a great time to visit Miami as the weather starts to warm up and the city experiences plenty of sunshine. It is considered the end of the dry season, which means you can expect less rainfall compared to the summer months. However, there is still a chance of occasional showers, so it’s advisable to pack a light rain jacket or umbrella.

The average daily temperature in Miami during April ranges from around 21°C (70°F) to 27°C (81°F). This makes it a pleasant time to enjoy outdoor activities such as sunbathing on the beautiful Miami beaches or exploring the city’s vibrant neighborhoods. The evenings are generally mild, with temperatures dropping to around 19°C (66°F), so you may want to bring a light sweater or jacket for cooler nights.

Dress Code

The 2025 SACUBO Annual Meeting is a business casual event. Comfortable slacks, polos, button-downs, blouses, and dresses are all great options. While the Miami weather will be warm and sunny, meeting rooms can sometimes run on the cooler side — we recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket so you’re comfortable throughout the day.

Think breezy and relaxed! Sundresses, khakis, linen shirts, polos, nice shorts, and comfy sandals are all perfect choices. (And yes, Hawaiian shirts are totally welcome.)

Embrace the warmth of the beachside ambiance and let the magic of Miami envelop you as we kick off this year's Annual Meeting in style. Your badge is required for entry to this event. This event is included with your conference registration. Guests are an additional fee.

Our Opening Reception will be held completely outdoors! No tent, no cover, just the open sky, ocean breeze, and plenty of good company. Be sure to check the forecast and come prepared in case the weather decides to surprise us!

Transportation

There will be looping buses available from 5:15 PM – 9:30 PM going to and from the Hyatt Regency Miami and Joia Beach. The last bus leaves Joia Beach at 9:30 PM to go back to the hotel.

Concurrent Session 8D Discussion Topics

ACUPA presenters are excited to describe the process of developing HR and Financial policies during Concurrent Session 8D: Open Discussion of Finance and HR Policy Development. To help the presenters provide pertinent information, please submit specific policy topics (travel policies, payment policies, financial reporting policies, hiring policies, benefit policies) or topics that are impacting the HR and Financial areas (executive orders, unionization, shared governance, etc.) Examples could be:

  • The effects of faculty and staff unionization
  • The effect of executive orders
  • Process changes affecting travel and purchasing policies
  • Developing a benefits policy
  • Developing an identity theft policy that includes red flag processes
